Newborn Care

Newborn Infant Exam and Care in Plano, TX

After your baby is born, you will visit with the doctor approximately 3-5 days after bringing your baby home. A second exam with the pediatrician will be conducted at two weeks, to insure the optimal growth and development of your baby.

During the newborn/infant visits, measurements will be taken of your baby’s height, weight and head size. These measurements will be entered into a chart and compared to determine proper growth. You will be asked questions regarding the baby, specifically regarding feeding, motor skills and social skills. During this time, the doctor will also be conducting a thorough physical evaluation of your baby.
